What You Can Do Right Now

Immediate Safety Steps:

  • • Remove any means of self-harm from your immediate area
  • • Call a trusted friend, family member, or crisis line
  • • Go to your nearest emergency room
  • • Stay with someone you trust
  • • Use our Calm Mode tools while waiting for help

Grounding Techniques:

  • • Focus on your breathing - in for 4, hold for 4, out for 6
  • • Name 5 things you can see, 4 you can touch, 3 you can hear
  • • Hold an ice cube or splash cold water on your face
  • • Listen to calming music or sounds
  • • Remind yourself: "This feeling will pass"
